Students hear from professionals about how to succeed

Mass Comm Week is full of opportunities for students, and “So you think you want to be a Mass Comm Professional” is no different.

The event, which was hosted by PRSSA, brought back multiple School of Journalism and Mass Communication alumni of various fields to speak with students.

The goal of this speed-dating style session, is to allow student to hear directly from professionals on what to expect. Senior Alejandro Garcia believes the session is important for students and can allow them to come out of their shell.

“I thought it was great,” Garcia said. “I really enjoyed this because it is very important for students to get that personal interaction with professionals. A lot of students are shy, so they don’t want to stand up when someone is speaking on a platform or panel. This way they get their questions answered.”

Aside from the students having their brains full of information, they were also treated to some light snacks and drinks.
