Confirmed Speakers – Mass Comm Week 2011

We are happy to announce just a few of the confirmed speakers for Mass Comm Week 2011. With an emphasis on Texas State’s Common Experience theme of The First Amendment and ranging across journalism, advertising, public relations and technology, Mass Comm Week will connect students with professionals to discuss current trends, ideas and issues affecting contemporary media. Stay tuned for additional programming announcements and promotions. The full schedule will be available soon.

Mass Comm Week will be held by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication Oct. 17-20 on the Texas State University campus in San Marcos. All Mass Comm Week events are open to the public. Please make plans to join us in October.

Roy Bragg – Senior Reporter at the San Antonio Express-News
Burnie Burns – Creator, Red vs. Blue, and Owner of Roosterteeth Productions
Bob Metcalfe – UT Professor, Internet Pioneer and Ethernet Inventor. Professor Metcalfe will join us for an interview and grad student Q&A.
Lara Pellegrinelli – Scholar and Arts Journalist; Lecturer at Princeton
Matt Stiles – Database Reporting Coordinator, NPR
Brian Stelter – Reporter, NY Times. Brian was featured in the film Page One: Inside The New York Times. His talk will accompany a screening of the documentary.
