Robert Jensen Speaks of a Dedicated Activist
Abe Osheroff was a dedicated activist who fought until his last breath. Though Osheroff has died, his story continues.
UT Professor Robert Jensen will be showing the documentary film he co-produced, “Abe Osheroff: One Foot in the Grave, the Other Still Dancing.”
Jensen met Osheroff in 2001 where he lectured at UT. In the summer of 2004, Jensen took a trip to Seattle to record the insights and thoughts of Osheroff.
“Abe was a person of great courage and conviction, and the film offers Abe’s vision of what makes ‘a good life,’” Jensen said.
Jensen completed his Ph.D in media ethics and law in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota. At UT, Jensen teaches courses in media law, ethics and politics.
In addition to teaching and research, Jensen writes for popular media, both alternative and mainstream.
“I became a journalist because I found it a fascinating way to explore the complexity of people and society. That’s the same reason I became a professor,” Jensen said.
Jensen will be speaking on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in ASBS 315.
