Documentary Film Screening – Round Rock

Texas State mass comm students learned about documentary filmmaking from two of their own. Texas State alumnus Jac Malloy and Mass Comm graduate student Jamie Ahrens Hilbert screened their documentary – Swedes of Central Texas: A Passage from Agriculture to Education – at the Round Rock campus. The film explores the history of the Swedish community in Williamson County. Through interviews with descendents of the early Swedish settlers, Malloy and Hilbert traced the history of the Texas State University campus in Round Rock. This film features historical photographs and interviews with community and civic leaders.
