More Confirmed Speakers – Mass Comm Week 2011

With Mass Comm Week 2011 only about a month away (Oct. 17-20), we are happy to share a few more confirmed speakers. Adding to our first list of stellar guests are:

Nakia – You know him from this summer’s NBC’s The Voice. He’s an Austin musician who has leveraged social media to skyrocket his career. Hear how this soulful artist landed a spot on the popular TV talent show and what’s happened to him since.

David Neff – co-author of the book The Future of Nonprofits: Innovate and Thrive in the Digital Age. After his presentation, Neff will be available for a book signing. Books will be available for sale at the event.

Whitney Francis of Google and Andrew Waldrup of Gowalla will talk about working for tech companies in Austin. More speaker announcements for this panel to come.

Tanya Sammis and Mario Ochoa

Denise Malan – Investigative/Data Editor at Corpus Christ Caller-Times. Malan will join Matt Stiles from NPR (and others) on a Data Journalism panel.

Ron Oswalt and Richard Lopez – principals at the marketing firm Sports Marketing Experts.

Tim Hayden
– Chief Marketing Officer at the mobile marketing firm 44Doors.

Cary-Anne Olsen (webmaster at Concordia University), Kathryn Legendre (freelance Web designer) and Matt Slabaugh (Web designer at Sparksight) – will lead a discussion on transforming your communication background into a career in design.
